in balance condition

600 - 40X10 = 40 a => a = 200/40
a=5 ms-2 Now use s= ut + 1/2at2 u=0 there4 s= 1/2at2 [ length=s=10m} thus , t2=( 10X2 ) /5 on solving t= 2s (1 optn)
