A car A is travelling on a straight levelled road with uniform velocity 60 km/hr. It is followed by a car B with a speed of 70 km/hr. When the distance between the two cars is 2.5 km, a deceleration of 20 km/hr2 is given to car B. After what distance and time will B catch up with A ?

Read 1 Solution.
let b catch in t hours.
distance covered by A is 60t.
distance covered by B is 70t+1/2*20*t^2
so, 60t= 70t+1/2*20*t^2
thus t= 1 hr.,distance travelled = 60t=60km
