Question
A solid sphere rolls without slipping along the track.the sphere starts from rest from a height H above the bottom of a loop of radiur R which is much larger than the radiur of the sphere 'r'.the min.value of H for the sphere to complete the loop ..??Read 1 Solution.
- Apply Law of conservation of energy.
- Subtract radius of sphere from Radius of Loop at the highest point of loop while calculating Potential Energy
- At the highest point Normal reaction will be 0. ( centripetal force= mg+0)
- Sphere's Rotational energy needs to be included at the highest point. ( I/2*I^2)). This is over and above Kinetic Energy.
