By conservation of momentum for both particles,
Mv= (M+m)ω
Let ω be the common velocity of the objects after collison.
Therefore,
ω=(Mv)/(M+m)
SO CHANGE IN MOMENTUM OF FIRST PARTICLE(IMPULSE)=Mω-Mv
