Question

If y= asinx+bcosx then prove that y²+(dy/dx)²=a²+b²

Read 1 Solution.

y2=( a(Sinx) + b(cos x))2

    =a2(sin2x) + b2(cos2x) + 2ab cosx sinx ............ 1

y' = acosx - bsinx

(y')2= a2cos2x + b2sin2x - 2ab sinx cosx  ............. 2

1 + 2,

a2(sin2x+cos2x) + b2(sin2x + cos2x) + 2ab sinx cosx - 2ab sinx cosx = a2 + b2
